Six years have passed since September 11, during which not a day passes when George Bush vows in his good old faith to rid the world of terrorism, during which probably every terrorist has renewed his new year resolutions to rid the world of George Bush and friends. Who is winning? who is losing ground? who is losing their mind? It is unfortunately certain now, that terrorists are here to stay. What is amazingly becoming difficult to ascertain is actually a real pragmatic solution that works for both sides. I leave you with the latest terrorist PUNCH!.. those one-in-a-blue-moon PUNCHES that have become groundshaking surprises in North Africa. Algeria was still recovering from a national conflict rooted in a bitter mixture of politics and religion, when out of nowhere someone decides to add insult to injury. Someone decides North Africa's ground is fertile enough for seeding of a new global poison: Neo Holy war in the Name of Allah, but we all know it is not in his name but rather in the name of inhumanity. We're all witnessing the growth of North Africa in every field that can generate quick money for the people and a LOT of money for the "special" people: foreigners buying land and estate and erecting monumental projects; economies opening up to the world with open arms; entertainment a l'Americaine; government officials elected by less than 30% of the people. Someone must be getting pissed, reall pissed! While the monopoly game is playing, the lurkers are rehearsing a freak show underground.. and one day, they might just announce the official launch in theatres near you. source: bloomberg "``They are beginning to target Westerners and Western interests in Algeria more aggressively,'' Haim Malka, deputy Middle East program director for the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, said in an interview. ``They would argue that Western nations are supporting repressive regimes in North Africa and that Western business interests are stealing the region's natural resources.'' [..] White House Homeland Security Adviser Frances Townsend traveled to Morocco, Algeria and Libya earlier this year to discuss U.S. concerns about al-Qaeda's expansion in the Maghreb. The U.S. is worried the group may be ``traveling into Europe and using that as a base, frankly, a launching pad to come into the United States,'' she said in a July 17 interview with MSNBC. Al-Qaeda and affiliated groups are using parts of North Africa to ``gain sanctuary, recruit, indoctrinate, train, equip, transit and mount operations,'' U.S. Army General Bantz J. Craddock, supreme allied commander in Europe, said in March."

Why so pessimistic? Besides, look at some of the barren land in Africa... not the most peaceful places on earth. So that can't be the answer.

Dear hudhud, " if we stripped our lands bare of all resources, ripped the soil out so nothing could grow, would we then be free of all these competing forces vying for control and power, whether by military tanks, oil tanks, or chaotic explosions" The short answer is "YES"

it doesn't help that foreign militaries are pouring money into north african militaries quite known for being just, diplomatic, and peaceful towards their own kind. the infiltration is worming into north africa, not out of it, and it is the north african people who are at risk daily and suffering the consequences, not the europeans or americans (most of whom don't even know algeria exists on a map). is this some perverted reverse psychology? darabni ou baka? tell the people a big lie and they'll believe it more willingly than a small one??? oh the perverse sick disgusting filth of it all. such total hypocrisy. and somewhere, some professor or expert or other will tell you "it all boils down to a resource war." and who knows, maybe that's the root of all the evil. so if we stripped our lands bare of all resources, ripped the soil out so nothing could grow, would we then be free of all these competing forces vying for control and power, whether by military tanks, oil tanks, or chaotic explosions? no, doubtless someone would find some excuse to come in and rape the rocks too, and kill the native shepherd who tries to sit on them.
